Fuji Provia 100F
I received the Sprocket Rocket as a gift earlier this year and after using two rolls on it, I know I love it ;) You just can’t go wrong with this camera as long as you shoot under enough light. The flash makes as a good companion when light is scarce but obviously only works for close-up shots.
Here are some shots from my Fuji Provia roll. As always Provia brings out bold colors,...

Mosquitoes attack! Seafood attack too! and photowalking with friends, what more can u ask? (yeah, maybe i could use an everlasting mosq-repellant and bottomless bowel as well: Tanjong Karang has one the best and cheapest seafood I’ve ever tasted!) This is my first Elitechrome roll. I must say I have loads to learn especially in handling my AE-1. Apart from that I personally think that I have...

I just realised (excuse me because I'm slow) but you guys are in Malaysia! How cool. I just booked a plane ticket to there (from Australia) to start my backpacking adventure around the world.
So a few questions about film in Malaysia. Is it cheap? Easily available? How much is developing?

I rummaged through my old (well, not that old, hahah) scans and found these!
These giant Kubrick Bears were there at an analogue specialty store, Lokomotiv Checkpoint while we were on one of our neverending film scavenging trips. Do check out their store!

Fujichrome Sensia 200ISO
Here is another great photo by contributor icomewhenieatcaponata whose Flickr is filled with other film goodness! Just look at the rich tones on this Sensia shot, which is still my favorite slide film btw. Definitely one of those films that is good for all sorts of conditions indoors and outdoors. It brings out deep rich tones when shot under low light and bright natural colors when shot under...

LOMO Color Negative 400 ISO
Finally I finished 3 rolls of this film! As a beginner to films & analog cameras, I learned lots of things during the experimentations. All I can say is shooting at a higher ISO (400 & above) is a lot more challenging especially when shooting near dusk, at night…without a tripod & a head full of substance! :P

Fujichrome T-64 Professional (Tungsten) (Expired)
I’m not sure why my shots didn’t turn out like eleanorrigby236’s with its soft pinkish hue. Maybe you need to have enough brown and yellow tones to make it turn as such? The environment at the time was very green & blue so that could be a reason why. Also, my roll of Tungsten was expired and the one eleanorrigby236 used was fresh if I’m not mistaken. My ISO settings was...

Lomography Redscale Negative 100ISO
I love my little plastic camera, it’s so so so sharp!! And don’t get me started on the vignetting, it’s far better than Holga’s! (okay I’m being biased, I don’t have the Holga BC but this is by far a cheaper option.)
The first 3 shots had been exposed multiple times. How did I achieve that you ask, seeing that the Wide & Slim doesn’t have that MX...

Kodak Ultramax 400ISO
My first series of pics with the Holga 135TIM! Besides looking like a complete dork (mine is the taxi cab yellow), this plastic half-frame camera allows you complete control on your shots on each and every frame AND you can multi-expose them however much you like. Here’s an in-depth review on this camera for those interested in purchasing it. Oh, and did I mention that you get 72 shots on a...

To commemorate the festival of Thaipusam last thursday, here are some shots of Hindu devotees carrying the Kavadi while we were on our way to Kuala Selangor for our first official C.G.S.F photowalk :)
The highway was jammed-packed with devotees of the Tamil God of War, Lord Murugan with authorities policing the streets making it next to impossible to get a good view. But somehow I managed to get...

Lomography Color Negative 100
Here are some photos from my first ever roll that produced real pictures since the craze over analog cameras started. I actually posted some when we first launched this blog here. This is a pretty neat film that retains all natural colors, brightens it up a bit and doesn’t go overboard with the tones.

Agfa Vista 100
I had always been hesitant to give film a try simply because I didn’t think my brain could take all the technical aspects that go into taking that single shot with a film cam (what film, what ISO, heck how on earth do I load a film into the camera???!?!?). However, after some coaxing from elearnorrigby236, I thought, “Yeah, why not?? I love photography as a whole & I...

Fujichrome T-64 Professional (Tungsten)
Just thought I’d share some more scans from this color reversal film while we wait for our new rolls to be developed. All of the shots below were taken in Tokyo Disneyland except for the one with my kitty. That was shot indoors under pretty dim fluorescent light. The light source you see almost blinding him was from a flashlight. Sorry kitty.

Fujichrome Sensia 100 Expired
More shots with the Sensia on the Pentax ME at the abandoned house. I’m not sure if it’s my ultra wide angle Zenitar lens (it’s a 180 degrees fisheye on a full frame camera that may contribute to excess stray light) or the slightly expired Sensia that caused the wild red shifts in shots with direct sunlight.
The bottom of the spiral staircase were really dark, and to my...

Agfa Vista 100
After using roll after roll of the CT Precisa color slide film, I popped this color negative into my Nikon SLR. As you can see there are no color shifts at all, what you see is what you get with this film. It doesn’t produce as deep tones as the regular Fujicolor film but produces results closer to the Fujicolor Pro film.
PS: I wasted over 1/2 of this roll, as I was under an illusion that...

Fujicolor Pro 160H
You really can’t shoot a Lubitel or any TLR for that matter without using a tripod/a solid surface. The 2nd & 5th shots were destroyed (all taken during a jaunt in Chinatown KL) because I decided to just shoot.
On the other hand, I’m doubly convinced that the Lubitel is just awesome and once you get the correct focus, the resulting images are super sharp!
Anyway, I need to get a...

Lomography Color Negative 800ISO
Yo peeps! My cherry was just popped by the AE-1! Haha. My very first personal roll on my very first film camera! I thought the pics turned out bad, but was assured by delusiana that they were fairly ok. So here goes:
Taken during cloudy dusk hour in Bukit Indah, Johor Bahru. Not many people were flying kites that day. But kids and their dads and lovers were still lingering on the playground. Two...

Fujicolor 100
This is what happens to your film when you use a panorama mask and forget to wind the film as much as you are supposed to. You get overlapped exposures. The funky colors are contributed by the color gels which added even more chaos to the distortions from the multi-pinhole. Yes, this is what a headache would look like if it were to conjure itself right before your very eyes ;)
On the bright side,...

Fujichrome Provia 400X
So this time I managed to get my hands on the elusive Provia 400X (expired btw) and tested it on my newly acquired Pentax ME. I’m still not used to the aperture priority ME so excuse my poor colors and exposures.
Also, when I had it developed today (this was a slide film and since my local lab did not provide E-6 processing so naturally it was cross-processed), I was expecting vibrant...

Fujicolor 100
It was very cloudy that day. You can see from the photo I shot from the 69th floor of the Yokohama Landmark Tower, the third tallest structure in Japan. Still the colors came out vibrant and the pictures very sharp, for the exception of the one from the Observatory Deck of the tower as it was shot through glass without a polarizer. It was a rather wasted ascend that day as a thick haze was...

Another set of shots from the Ektar roll. This was taken in Batu Pahat, Johore and fyi, those stone slabs were Muslim headstones (d’uh). All pics were taken at 12 noon but the graveyard was super shady. The trees overhead were huge…I can imagine how spooky this place must be at night *brr…*

Fujichrome Sensia III 100ISO
Here are a few more shots from this roll. I am pretty sure that last picture was overexposed when the film was being prepared for developing at the photo lab as I always see them doing it under light. Bummer. Kodak ColorPlus 200
I was runnin out of film and left my other rolls at home on the last Xmas weekend. And then I felt a bit awkward with my Rebel unloaded while others were really busy with theirs. So, I just went to the nearest photo lab, bought a roll of Kodak ColorPlus 200 (it’s the only film available there), load it & shot.

Kodak Ektar 100ISO
Remember my gripe against the Kodak Ektar, saying how the colors turn out muted, greenish and not so sharp? Well, somehow they are sharper when the sun is behind you or by shooting under a shade thus shielding your view against direct sunlight rather than in front of you/directly behind the object; which is unlike the Velvia which you can see here.
See the pictures below for comparison. All pics...

My shots here were taken under dim light producing darker and less vibrant tones.
